An
Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is
being prepared by the Bureau of Indian Affairs to assess the environmental consequences of the Tribe’s application to take six parcels totaling
29.87 acres into Federal trust for the development of a 225,000 square foot casino
complex and a four-level parking structure. The project site is located in unincorporated west Contra Costa County,
adjacent to the City of Richmond. The effects of
this development, as well as four other alternatives, are analyzed within the EIS.
